Antebi : Threats Harm Values of Democracy

Jerusalem City Councilwoman Yael Antebi said on Sunday that threats on her life due to a campaign against the noise level of northern Jerusalem mosques harms democratic values. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva, Antebi said, "It can't be that they will try to harm democratic values and threaten a council member so that she does not do her job. I hope very much that the police will do its job on the matter."

Antebi noted that in the Islamic countries of Turkey and Morocco, the call to prayer is not blasted out of loudspeakers in mosques, but is broadcast so that people who want to can hear it privately at a reasonable volume.
