A man in his mid 70s who suffered from a series of illnesses, including heart disease and serious kidney disease, died Friday at his home, three days after he was immunized against the H1N1 swine-flu virus.
In reporting the death, the Health Ministry wanted to clarify that the innoculation was given according to instructions for administering it to dialysis patients, such as the victim, and that the timing was a coincidence. In addition, the ministry stressed that the vaccine is recommended by the World Health Organization and meets all criteria for safety and effectiveness.
