Judge Richard Goldstone, who in his report accused IDF soldiers of conducting "war crimes" against Gaza Arab civilians, said that he was "disappointed" by the reaction of the United States to his report. Last week, the U.S. Congress slammed the report, and the American ambassador to the United Nations led the opposition to presenting the report to the UN Security Council for discussion.
Goldstone added that he was surprised at Israel's sometimes "violent" reaction to the report, adding that he expected his recommendations that senior IDF officials be tried for war crimes to be more well-accepted.
