The Ministerial Law Committee on Sunday discussed a bill that would give protesters who were arrested during the period of the 2005 disengagement a full pardon, along with excising charges from their police record. The law was first proposed during the previous Knesset, but discussions ceased when Ehud Olmert's government fell. Among those proposing the law during the previous Knesset was Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Fourteen ministers approved the law, which will now be prepared for its first reading. Opposing the law were Ministers Dan Meridor, Yitzchak Aharanovich, and Benny Begin.
