Israel's Foreign Currency Reserves Hit Record

Israel's foreign currency reserves passed the $60 billion mark in October, the Bank of Israel said Sunday. During that month, another $1.23 billion was added to the reserves, bringing the reserves to the highest level in Israel's history.

Most of the rise is due to purchases of dollars by the BOI to keep the value of the shekel relative to the U.S. currency lower.
