Responding to criticism by MK Nachman Shai (Kadima), Yossi Levi, the Foreign Ministry official in charge of presenting Israel's case to the foreign media, said that Israel had presented the facts of the seizure of the Hizbullah arms ship Francop properly. Shai had said that Israel's efforts to present its case had failed, but Levi responded by saying that Israel presented the facts, but that some foreign news outlets were prejudiced against Israel, and would refuse to show the Jewish state's point of view regardless of the facts.

Speaking to Israel National News, former IDF spokesperson Efraim Lapid said that Israel had done everything it could to tell its side of the story in the seizure of the Francop, including inviting international reporters to view the arms that would have fallen into the hands of Hizbullah had Israel not intercepted the ship. As such, he said he was surprised at the lack of coverage of the issue on international news broadcasts.
