Norwegian prosecutors have dropped war crimes charges against several Israeli leaders. The charges were filed in April by a group of Norwegian citizens, using a 2008 law that allows Norway's courts to hear cases involving war crimes no matter where on earth the crimes were allegedly committed.
The charges were dropped after Chief Prosecutor Siri Frigaard ruled that there was “no good reason” for Norway to be involved in the case.
Among those who faced charges under the suit were Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Kadima head and former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, and former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
