An extremely rare one-shekel coin minted during the final year (70 CE) of the Great Jewish Rebellion will go on display at the Davidson Center / Jerusalem Archaeological Garden starting next Wednesday.
For the first time ever, the general public will be able to see all the kinds of coins that were discovered at the foot of the Temple Mount. These include coins minted during the Great Rebellion, which show signs of being burned when the Roman army destroyed the Jewish Temple.
