The chairman of the Arab authority (PA) in Judea and Samaria, Mahmoud Abbas, has told members of the Fatah organization's central committee that he does not intend to run for another term of office.

A senior Fatah member said Abbas is “broken,” and that he is frustrated over the US position in the matter of the construction freeze in Jewish communities. However, Fatah does not have a candidate with realistic chances for replacing him, he added.
