The U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday evening condemned the Goldstone report in a lopsided 344-36 vote. The report, authored for the United Nations by South African Judge Richard Goldstone, accuses Israel of war crimes in the defensive Operation Cast Lead counterterrorist campaign in Gaza 10 months ago.

The Congressional resolution, which is non-binding, stated that the report is "irredeemably biased and unworthy of further consideration or legitimacy." Republican Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who helped draft the resolution, said after the vote, “The Goldstone Report illustrates the anti-freedom, anti-Israel bias which deeply pervades the U.N. system, and it does not deserve consideration or legitimacy from responsible nations,"
