Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said that he had suggested to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that Israel and the Palestinian Authority conduct quiet negotiations at a town in Sicily. "I am trying to help with the negotiations," he said. "My dream is to see a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians before I leave office."

Berlusconi made the comments at a meeting of the Jewish National Fund in Rome Tuesday.
