Rabbi Riskin: Right Has the Right to Protest Oslo

In an interview with Israel National News, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin of Efrat, decried the politicization of the anniversary of the death of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin. "We must separate between the murder of a prime minister, a terrible act that cause a great desecration of G-d's name, with the right of those opposed to a political process to protest it.

"We cannot have a situation where Yitzchak Rabin is set up as a 'man of peace,' and all those who oppose him and the Oslo Accords belong to the camp of Rabin's killer, Yigal Amir," Rabbi Riskin said. "We must realize that today things are somewhat different and more complicated when we speak of the 'Rabin legacy.' Rabin himself was not happy about having to deal with Yasser Arafat," he said.
