The Kinneret Authority is very happy with the way winter has started, but stresses that despite the heavy rains of recent days, there is a long way to go before Israel's water problems can be declared resolved. Pinchas Green, head of the Authority, told Israel National News that since Friday, seven centimeters has been added to the Kinneret, "and this is a very good start. After five years of a lack of rainfall, I hope that this beginning will be a sign of things to come," he said.
According to the meteorological models Green has seen, the coming winter is set to be a wet one. "Every centimeter is welcome," he added.
