Installation Charges to be Limited to NIS 100

The Knesset Economics Committee on Tuesday approved a measure that expands the Law for Protection of the Consumer, under which companies can charge no more than NIS 100 for the installation of a service, if the customer decides to cancel the associated service within 14 days of ordering it.

With that, companies will be able to charge consumers for the portion of the service used during the 14 day period. MK Ofir Akunis, chairman of the Committee, said that the law "provides limits on installation rates. This is true consumer protection," he said.
