Following many questions on the subject from reporters, Knesset Speak Reuven Rivlin decided Tuesday to cancel a Knesset address that was scheduled for Wednesday by MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) in memory of slain Knesset member Rabbi Meir Kahane.

Ben-Ari said he will work against the decision, saying that the intervention by Rivlin "was an unprecedented attempt to silence opinions and damage freedom of speech. The great believer in democracy Rivlin, who daily allows Arabs to speak against the IDF and the state, is preventing the freedom of speech of a member of the Knesset," Ben-Ari said.
