A Supreme Court hearing is scheduled Tuesday morning in the appeal by Elior Chen of a decision to keep him in jail through his trial on child-abuse charges related to a Jerusalem-area cult.

The Jerusalem Magistrates Court ordered last Thursday that Chen's custody be extended eight days, a decision which was upheld by a Jerusalem District Court judge. Chen, who was recently extradited to Israel from Brazil, is still considered a flight risk.
