Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz said Monday in a speech in Tel Aviv that the Treasury intends to privatize Bank Leumi and Discount Bank in 2010.

"We have made a clear decision to sell the state's share in Bank Leumi and the Israel Discount Bank and we are seriously considering making the sale without retaining a controlling share. Probably already during 2010 we will privatize the two banks," said the minister.
