For First Time Ever - Hebrew Internet Domain Names

The Hebrew language takes one more step forward in its renaissance. Hebrew Internet domain names will be available starting next year for the first time ever, following a decision allowing non-Latin characters in Internet addresses.

On Friday, the board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) voted to allow the use of Hebrew, Hindi, Korean and other scripts not based on Latin characters, during a weeklong meeting in Seoul, South Korea.
