Kadima head Tsipi Livni will testify on Monday before a Knesset committee investigating the government's treatment of families dispossessed from their homes and businesses during the 2005 disengagement. The committee is hearing from all government officials and MKs who were involved in the decision to support the disengagement, as well as those who opposed it.
On a tour last week of Nitzan, where she laid a cornerstone for the home of a Gush Katif family that is still living in temporary quarters, Livni said that although the disengagement was fraught with pain, she did not regret the fact that Israel no longer controlled Gaza.
