Coalition Chairman Ze'ev Elkin contrasted ideals and reality Thursday night in talking about the way different people approached the 14th anniversary of the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin.
The Likud lawmaker said, "In his sincere and profound words, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin stressed how the Rabin memorial day is a day to unite all ends of the political spectrum and a day on which the emphasis is on tolerance and one's accepting the opinion of the other." Elkin continued, "I am sorry that even on this day, there are those who prefer to concentrate on petty politics and put down the official ceremony with unneeded embarassing heckling."
