MK Zeev Bielski (Kadima) issued an impassioned plea to Finance Committee head Moshe Gafni calling to assist Holocaust survivors. The government has violated its promises to survivors by failing to transfer money to pay for their medication, Bielski informed Gafni.
"This is shameful behavior, this is abuse of helpless and needy people who survived the death camps, but are now collapsing under the weight of the Israeli government's indifference and bureaucracy,” Bielski said. He asked Gafni to work for an immediate solution to the problem and to “send the government ministries the clear message that they must not continue to drag their feet.”
