Farmers Protest Lack of Foreign Workers

Hundreds of farmers demonstrated in the Arava on Sunday morning, protesting cuts by the government in the number of foreign workers admitted to pick crops. The farmers closed main highways in the south and conducted a slow drive along the Arava Road, causing major traffic jams.

Farmers say that unless more foreign workers are admitted, they will not be able to pick all their crops before winter sets in, causing them to lose money.
