Recruits of the Kfir brigade displayed a poster that read, "The Shimshon battalion will not uproot Homesh," at a swearing-in ceremony for about 700 soldiers at the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem on Thursday evening. Similar posters were displayed among family members who came for the ceremony.
The recruits were inducted in August. The demonstation was in response to the battalion's taking part in the uprooting of activists who have returned to the site. The Homesh First organization, which encourages a return to the communities uprooted in the 2005 Disengagement, welcomed the demonstration. The army is considering dismissing the recruits from the brigade.
