A German court has rejected an appeal by John Demjanjuk against prosecution. The decision paves the way for a trial against him which will begin in Munich at the end of next month.

Demjanjuk, eighty-nine, is accused of assisting in the killing of twenty-eight thousand Jews in the Sobibor extermination camp during World War II.
