The Binyamin Residents Council has slammed outgoing Central Command General, Gadi Shamni, for his remarks against Yesha activists.

"Shamni is the last person who can teach us moral values and democracy. He ignored a Supreme Court decision forbidding the destruction of Jewish buildings in the community of Yad Yair. Shamni also testified against his own officers and soldiers who give their lives for the country's security. Shamni should have retired quietly from the army in disgrace.”

At a ceremony at Central Command in Jerusalem Shamni appealed for a public denounciation of what he called “extremist right-wing” elements in Judea and Samaria and to treat them with zero tolerance.
