The Chief of Staff of the Canadian Army, Walter J. Natynczyk, arrived in Israel Saturday night for his first working visit here. He will meet on Sunday with DF Chief of the General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi. He will also meet with Deputy Chief of Staff Benny Ganz, Head of the Strategic and Planning Branch, Amir Eshel, the outgoing Central Command officer (who will soon be appointed as the IDF Military Attachי in Washington) Maj. Gen. Gadi Shamni, and others.

He will be briefed on the situation in the Middle East, and review some of the experiences of the IDF during the Second Lebanon War and Operation Cast Lead.
