Egypt and Saudi Arabia signed security pacts on swapping prisoners and fighting drug trafficking Wednesday, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua. The agreements were signed by Egypt's Interior Minister Habib Ibrahim el-Adli and his Saudi counterpart Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz on the sidelines of a meeting of Interior ministers from countries that border Iraq. The meeting was held in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

The two pacts keep pace with international and regional efforts to fight different kinds of crimes, el-Adli told reporters after the signing ceremony.
