Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak lashed out at the Goldstone's report of alleged Israeli war crimes in its anti-terror Operation Cast Lead at the beginning of the year. “Goldstone's report is a false report, distorted, biased and an encouragment to terrorism,” he stressed during a series of discussions with world leaders and diplomats about the report on Tuesday. The UN’s Human Rights Council is scheduled to review the report on Wednesday.
Barak warned that adopting the report’s conclusions could “provide a tail wind to terror organizations around the world.” The defense minister spent the day meeting with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, the British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos, and Norwegian Foreign Minister, Jonas Gahr Store.
