Four Labor party Knesset members sent a letter to Party Chairman Ehud Barak on Tuesday in which they expressed their opposition to a proposal under consideration by Justice Minister Ya'akov Ne'eman to split the duties of the Attorney-General's office, which acts as the nation's chief prosecutor and legal advisor to the government.
The MKs - Eitan Cabel, Ophir Pines-Paz, Yuli Tamir and Shelly Yechimovich - say that splitting the two tasks will lead to politicization of the office and hurt the rule of law in Israel.
