Hizbullah told Reuters Monday evening that it is investigating an explosion at the home of a senior member of the Lebanese terrorist group in a village in the Tyre area earlier in the evening. Hizbullah denies reports that as many as six people died in the blast, including Abd Al-Nasr Issa and his son, but concedes that one person was seriously injured.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) asked the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon to investigate the explosion, according to Ynet. IDF sources said the blast proves that Hizbullah continues to bring arms and munitions into southern Lebanon and hide it in members' houses, in violation of Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the Second Lebanond War in 2006.
