Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom addressed the cabinet meeting on Monday on the issue of the Temple Mount saying, "The struggle for sovereignty in Jerusalem is against both the Palestinian Authority which is trying to regain control of government institutions in Jerusalem and also against the Islamic Movement."

Shalom called "to fight firmly, not to hide nor apologize for putting behind bars Raed Salah, Kamal Khatib and Abdel Qader (of the Islamic Movement of Israel)."
