Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has asked the head of his office to act quickly to prevent the cessation of national service education and welfare services threatened by sharp budget cuts.

Science Minister Daniel Herskovitz said at the cabinet meeting that "a national service stoppage will badly hurt the weaker sectors of society as well as the thousands of volunteers: Jews, Arabs, secular, religious and Haredi".
