25 families living in the community of Chavat Gilad in Shomron (Samaria) have no water for the pre-Sabbath preparations and the Sabbath itself. The community is not hooked up to the general water supply because it has not been recognized by the state. Instead, water is brought into the community in tanks and often runs out before these can be refilled.
Shomron Liaison Head David Ha'Ivri said that there are negotiations with the IDF Shomron Regiment commander, Itzik Bar, over the possibility that the IDF would supply the community with water.
On Thursday, visitors from the Rez Congregation of Loveland, Colorado toured the community and donated a kindergarten.
