The Israeli Arab Balad party will hold a public forum on Saturday, at which it will demand that Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas resign as head of the PA for deciding not to pursue a complaint against Israel at the International Criminal Court in the Hague, based on the Goldstone panel report. Abbas decided last week not to pursue the complaints, as the PA had originally planned to do.
According to a Balad statement, Abbas' reversal is a "political crime. Anyone who ignores the crimes of the occupier and tries to sweep them under the rug cannot be a legitimate representative for his nation, even if he represents a national freedom fighting movement," the Balad statement said.
