In the first political reaction to the arrest of Sheikh Raed Salah, MK Moshe Matalon (Yisrael Beiteinu) said Tuesday night that the police move to put him behind bars was long overdue.

"I welcome the decision to arrest the arch-inciter Salah, and regret that it was not done in June, when he incited to harm Jews during his speech at Haifa University. I warned against him then, but police paid no attention," Matalon said.
