Kadima chairwoman and Knesset Member Tzipi Livni surprised her Knesset colleague and political adversary Shaul Mofaz Monday evening when she showed up at a reception at MK Mofaz’s Sukkah at his residence in Kokhav Yair, adjacent to Kfar Saba. Media analysts described her appearance as a brilliant political move aimed at solidifying her leadership.
MK Livni’s popularity has decreased since the general election in February, when Kadima won one more seat than Likud but could not from a coalition government. Reports continually have cropped up that MK Mofaz has made preparations to bolt the party with several other Kadima MKs and switch back to his former Likud home.
