MK Gilad Erdan says that a change in the law on bottle recycling, which would exclude family sized bottles (1.5 liters and up) from the requirement to be recycled, would not hurt recycling efforts and create more pollution, as critics of the change are claiming.
Instead of requiring recycling, soft drink companies will, in exchange for the change in the law, set up 12,000 bottle drops around the country, enabling consumers to drop off their containers on their own. Erdan said on Army Radio that the arrangement was a worthwhile one and would actually encourage recycling.
