Deputy Knesset chairman MK Majalli Whbee (Kadima) said that it was time for International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chairman Mohammed ElBaradei to "stop smiling and start threatening" Iran's repeated efforts to defy the international community over inspection of its nuclear facilities. "Instead of sitting with the Iranian president and smiling from ear to ear, the IAEA chief would do better on his visit to Tehran if he would understand that his job is not to appease the Iranians, but to save the world from them," Whbee said.
On Sunday, ElBaradei said that Iran had agreed to allow IAEA officials inspect the recently revealed enrichment plant in Qom. The inspection would take place on October 23, ElBaradei said. "I continue to say today that the agency has no concrete proof that there is an ongoing weapons program in Iran. There are allegations that Iran has conducted weaponization studies. However, these are issues that we are still looking into," he added.
