Two pro-Arab groups in Spain have appealed to the Spanish High Court against a decision to close an investigation against seven senior Israeli officials, who had been accused of killing top Hamas terrorist Salah Shehadeh in Gaza seven years ago. Among those included in the probe were former Israeli Air Force commander Dan Halutz and Minister of National Infrastructure Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, who at the time of the Shehadeh killing served as Defense Minister. Both men approved the strike that killed the Hamas terrorist.
The Spanish court had dismissed the case earlier this year. The case was brought to the Spanish court based on a law that allows anyone to petition the court on cases involving international humanitarian issues or alleged war crimes.
