The B'nai Brith organization has praised the Canadian government for its plans to boycott Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his address to the United Nations. Canadian officials intend to leave the hall as Ahmadinejad prepares to speak.

"I would like to commend, in the strongest words possible, the Canadian government's principled move to take the lead and announce that our nation will not be present in the audience at the UN General Assembly when Ahmadinejad comes to the stage to spout his venom and antisemitism" said Frank Dimant, B'nai Brith Canada's Vice President, in a statement released Wednesday.  "We call on all nations of good faith to follow in Canada's footsteps and also boycott Ahmadinejad's address.
