Mothers of soldiers serving in the IDF's Kfir Brigade have requested a meeting with Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi to discuss the charges against commander Adam Maloul. Maloul is on trial for allegedly hitting a Palestinian Authority Arab while pursuing terrorists.

The mothers told Ashkenazi that they have been losing sleep due to fear that their own children could find themselves in a situation like that Maloul was in and, like Maloul, could end up facing jail time. “This whole story has raised fundamental questions. We think the Chief of Staff, who oversees the army in times of peace and sends our children to carry out missions in times of war, should give us some answers,” they wrote.
