Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon rejected comments attributed to Israeli President Shimon Peres last week and said that the military option against Iran was still on the table. In an interview with Reuters Monday, Ayalon said "It is certainly not a guarantee. I don't think that, with all due respect, the Russian president is authorized to speak for Israel and certainly we have not taken any option off the table." 

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev claimed last week that Peres had said Israel was not planning on attacking Iran in order to stop the country from gaining nuclear weapons.
