Middle East envoy George Mitchell of the United States will travel to Ramallah for talks with Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas before returning to Jerusalem for a second meeting Friday with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, according to Ynet. The prime minister will convene the Forum of Seven security-minded ministers in between his two sessions with Mitchell to discuss what compromises Israel is willing to make and which "red lines" Israel will not cross in order to resume the diplomatic process with the PA.
One goal in Friday's talks is a meeting between the two local leaders and US President Barack Obama next week. The gap between the sides involves a freeze in Jewish development in Judea and Samaria.
