The Samarian Regional Council has distributed hundreds of food packages and envelopes with gift certificates to needy families in the area, as part of a campaign by the council's social services department and strategic unit ahead of the Rosh HaShanah holiday.

A hundred packages are distributed a month throughout the year, supplemented by special campaigns for holidays.
