The delivery of 100 copies of the Koran sent from Gaza to Hamas terrorists in Israeli prisons is dependent on word that abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit has received a Rosh HaShanah package from his family, according to a Friday morning report by Haaretz. Shalit's father Noam exchanged his package at the Karni crossing on Thursday for packages of the Koran brought by Gaza-based journalist Sami Abid.
Thursday evening Shalit activist Yoel Marshak took the Korans to the Prisons Service after a court rejected a petition by the Almagor terror victims' group against their delivery. The delivery of the Korans will be dependent upon the books passing a security examination and the Prisons Service receiving confirmation from the Shalit Task force that Gilad has received his package. The Youth Task Force for Shalit has scheduled a Rosh HaShanah meal Friday night in the protest tent near the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.
