According to the U.S. Commerce Department, the number of requests received by American companies from Saudi Arabia to boycott Israel has increased by more than 75% in the past two years, rising from 42 in 2006 to 65 in 2007 to 74 in 2008. 

Saudi officials regularly ask foreign companies to promise that any goods exported to the kingdom are not manufactured in Israel or contain any Israeli-made components. It is illegal for US companies to submit to any boycott requests and the requests must further be reported to the federal government.
