The European Union expressed its "deep concern" Tuesday over the 455 housing units authorized this week by Defense Minister Ehud Barak for construction in Judea and Samaria, continuing its pressure on Israel to halt any building in the regions entirely.
"According to international law the settlements are illegal and are an impediment to peace," said the EU in a statement released Tuesday.
