Traffic on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway (Route 1) was brought to a standstill in both directions late Monday afternoon, following a technical malfunction which caused a van to go up in flames near the Shaar Hagai Junction. Firefighters were summoned to the scene.
Police asked motorists to take alternate routes, such as Route 443, the Jerusalem-Modi'in Highway.
