An official Hamas spokesman said Saturday night that although much progress had been made in a deal to free kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit in exchange for hundreds of terrorists, some last minute glitches had come up that would likely delay the deal until the end of November. The statement appeared in the official Hamas newspaper Al-Rasallah, and it marked the first time any deal for Shalit had been mentioned in that paper.

The spokesman said that any deal was dependent on Israel's willingness to capitulate to all of Hamas' demands. He denied that Hamas had many any compromises on any of its positions.
