Yesha council head Danny Dayan said Saturday night that any building freeze that will be announced by the government is unlikely to be temporary. "If we cannot stand up to the Americans today, how will we be able to do so in a year? By that time, we will be deep into the negotiations on dividing Judea and Samaria. Any freeze will have an important impact on negotiations, said Dayan.
He added that supporters of building in Judea and Samaria should not let themseleves be fooled by Netanyahu's plan to authorize more building before a freeze. "We must not allow ourselves to be tempted. After the trumpets announcing the building, we will have a complete freeze, courtesy of a right wing government. At best, each yishuv will have three or four apartments authorized. The damage of the freeze will be far greater than the benefit of the authorizations," he said.
